EnVision at 27: Part 3 of 9
SUCCESS FACTOR #3: Keeping Up with Changing Technology

This is the third of 3 success factors I’m writing about in celebration of EnVision’s 27 years! (Up next will be a series on what I wish I’d known!)
Tech seems to be changing, improving, or throwing us for a loop almost every day. It’s hard to keep up. OK, maybe it’s impossible to keep up. Last month, I wrote about using the quieter times to upskill. The truth is, we need to be aware of and embrace new technology every day.
Here are some of the ways our EnVision team welcomes this challenge.
- FOCUS EFFORTS: Learning too many technologies or tools can result in mediocrity in all of them. Therefore, our team focuses on a handful of tools at any given time. For example, we concentrate on the elearning tools that our clients prefer. As a result, we remain on top of the latest Articulate products and a few of the most used and useful add-ins, such as Vyond, Synthesia, and HeyGen. If our clients insist on something we’re not expert at, we can decide if we will add that expertise to our team.
- KNOW WHAT’S OUT THERE: Each of us can’t be expert at everything. Yet, it’s still important to be aware of the newest technologies, even if it’s not something we’re choosing to focus on. AI is a great example of this. It is necessary for us to know the basics and what it can do. In fact, we recently held our semi-annual EnVisioning Our Future event—time for the team to come together and share interesting approaches and learnings—and we focused on AI. It wasn’t the first time we learned how AI can help us be more efficient or effective. Since AI changes so rapidly, we will need to continue to revisit it.
- EMBRACE IT, WITH THOUGHTFULNESS: Tech is here, with its gifts and its challenges. It is constantly changing. We cannot escape it. So, why not embrace it? And while incorporating it into our work, we educate ourselves about its accompanying challenges and concerns as well. What are the limitations? How reliable is it? Can our clients also work with it?
We live in exciting—and sometimes scary—times. Awareness of ever-changing technologies, how they can benefit us, and the downsides is as important as it ever was.
What will you do in 2026 to keep up with current tools and embrace them while considering the challenges? And how will you focus your efforts?
